Courageous. Determined. Passionate. Aries is the first sign in the zodiac, and they have a lot of great qualities. If you’ve got a little Aries at home, you’re probably thinking you’ve got a stubborn little human on your hands since their symbol is the Ram. However, when researching this sign, stubbornness wasn’t mentioned in the list of Aries traits. Trust me, I looked. So maybe Rams aren’t as stubborn as we think? They might have quite the temper though. More on that later…

Over the years, I’ve known quite a few Aries. I dated one back in college, my good friend was born at the end of March, and I know a handful of others as well. So, I had quite a few people to keep in mind when I was reading about the stereotypical characteristics Rams are traditionally known to have. Turns out – most of the Aries I know fit the descriptions. Now, that’s not to say your little Aries will too, but it’s fun to read about the possibilities, right?

If you’re currently raising a confident little Ram, or you’re expecting one to arrive soon, let’s see what the experts have to say about what you can look forward to!

First, we’ll start with the basics of the Aries sign.

  • Birthdate – March 21 – April 19
  • Element – Fire Sign
  • Symbol – The Ram

Yes, a fire sign. Along with Leo and Sagittarius, Aries belongs to the element of fire and is considered the most active zodiac sign. It’s in their nature to take action…sometimes before thinking.

Below is a list of typical positive and negative traits of Aries. Your little one might have some, or maybe they have all of them! Let’s hope they have all the positive traits at least. Fingers crossed! (You can find the whole list here)

Positive Traits

Leadership – The first sign of the zodiac means leadership. Aries like to take charge of every situation and try to control others to achieve success. They are natural leaders.

Optimism – Want an optimistic outlook on life? Ask an Aries. No matter how challenging the situation, an Aries is always able to put a positive spin on things. They aren’t big complainers, and they typically have plenty of friends due to their sunny disposition.

Confidence – Self-confidence should not be an issue for your Ram. They have a strong sense of self, and strong opinions as well. Others are often drawn to their confident vibe.

Organization – Manager. Director. Team Leader. The Ram personality is perfect for all of these with their outstanding organizational skills.

Creativity – Since Aries are so optimistic, they’re creative too. It takes a creative mind to continue to find the positive side to every situation.

Negative Traits

Aggression – When it gets to the point where a Ram can no longer control their behaviour, it results in bursts of rage. It’s best to give them some time to calm down.

Selfishness – Those born under this sign are often seen as selfish. They will always do what it takes to win, and it’s said they usually only think of themselves.

Explosive Temper – Remember that temper I mentioned earlier? Well, apparently it can get quite explosive. Aries are known for having very short fuses. There is some good news though! These bursts of anger are typically short lived. Phew!

Now that we know a little bit more about Aries, let’s see what they stereotypically like and dislike. As a fellow fire sign, I found that I was able to relate to quite a few of these!

Likes

Comfortable Clothes – I’m totally on board with this one! I live in leggings and hoodies 24/7. You’d think my youngest was an Aries as well. Since he was very young, he was absolutely against any kind of pants that had buttons or a zipper. He’s 12 now and continues to feel the same way.

Leadership Roles – Aries are born leaders, so it’s only natural that they will gravitate towards roles in leadership positions.

Individual Sports – If you notice your youngster isn’t excelling in team sports, maybe try an individual sport like swimming or tennis.

Dislikes

Delays – Delayed flights. Online orders not arriving on time. Aries is having none of it!

Inactivity – As I mentioned earlier, Aries is the most active sign of the zodiac. It’s in their nature to be on the move physically and mentally, so they aren’t big fans in inactivity.

Does this sound like your little Ram or another Aries you know? If not, that’s okay. Astrological signs are meant to be fun and not be taken too seriously. I mean, when was the last time you read your horoscope and it actually came true?

A highly intelligent, deep thinker with a passion for fighting for causes. That might just be in your future if you have a little Aquarius running around or you’re expecting one soon. Wondering how to raise an Aquarius?

While researching information about Aquarians, I noticed they were repeatedly described as intelligent, independent, but also ‘unique’, or ‘different’, and even ‘eccentric’. Now, I’m no expert but Bob Marley, Guy Fieri, and Isla Fisher are just a few famous people born under this sign, so there might be some truth to that. Oh, and if you don’t think of Isla Fisher as that ‘different’, keep in mind she’s married to Sacha Baron Cohen, aka Borat. I mean, you need to be a little off to be married to Borat, right? (I still love Isla Fisher though!)

So, what else can you expect if you’re raising a little Water-Bearer or expecting one to arrive soon? Well, let’s see what the experts have to say!

First, we’ll start with the basics of the Aquarius sign.

  • Birthdate – January 20 – February 18
  • Element – Air Sign
  • Symbol – Water-Bearer

When it comes to personality, Aquarians are grouped together with Gemini and Libra as Air signs. Most people wonder why Aquarius isn’t a water sign considering their symbol is the Water-Bearer. All I can say is that water signs are typically known for being sensitive and emotional – and Aquarians are NOT!

Below is a list of typical positive and negative traits of Aquarius. Your little one probably doesn’t have ALL of these traits, but they likely have some. (You can find the whole list here)

Positive Traits

Open Mind – It’s said that Aquarius personalities are open to trying new things, considering new ideas, and will never judge a book by its cover. Definitely a great trait to have!

Easy Going – As the sister of an Aquarius, I can tell you a lot of these are true, but this one is spot-on for my brother. He is one of the most easy-going people I’ve met.

Ambitious – Aquarians are known for making ambitious goals for themselves, as well as the world. They focus on positive changes and have a strong feeling of justice.

Friendly – You can look forward to your little Aquarius having many friends due to their naturally friendly personality and desire to help people.

Humanitarian – Your little Water-Bearer may gravitate towards humanitarian sciences as they get older. They find languages, sociology, geography, history, and literature very interesting. They easily remember things and enjoy learning.

Negative Traits

Impulsive – Since they’re quick thinkers, Aquarians tend to make decisions quickly too. Not always good decisions.

Insensitive – As a sign that isn’t too keen on sharing emotions, Aquarians often come across as insensitive.

Stubborn – Having a stubborn child isn’t always easy, but it does mean they have a strong personality and will likely be able to handle themselves as adults. When they make decisions, it can be almost impossible to change their mind. Only their opinion is right.

Now that we know a little bit more about the Water-Bearer, let’s see what they stereotypically like and dislike. Obviously, not everyone born under this sign is the same, but this might give you a bit of insight into your little one.

Likes

Fun with Friends – A social butterfly they are not, but Aquarians do like to socialize with their close friends and have some fun.

Intellectual Conversations – You can look forward to having some deep conversations with your child as they get older.

Risky Business – No, this doesn’t mean the movie. Although, they might enjoy it!

Dislikes

Limitations – Aquarians don’t like being controlled or having limits. This might be tricky in those toddler and teenage years, so this might be something to keep in the back of your mind.

Being Lonely – Simply put, they don’t like being alone. So, if your little Aquarius gets upset every time you leave a room, this could be why.

As I said, my brother is an Aquarius, and honestly, a lot of this is true for him. He always kept my parents on their toes when he was younger with his strong personality, and I can 100% say he’s friendly, easy-going, and loves to have fun with friends. He also likes the movie Risky Business, so there’s that.

If you’re currently raising a little Water-Bearer, let us know what you think in the comments. Interested in other traits of your little one? Check out each month here!

It’s the sign of practicality, ambition, and maturity. That’s what you can expect if you have a little Capricorn at home, or you’re impatiently waiting to raise a Capricorn! Now, it’s hard to imagine a practical, mature toddler, so those characteristics will likely come with age. I can’t help but picture a two-year old running around in a suit with a briefcase though.

Capricorns are known for being somewhat serious and are said to be good leaders or managers. One of my best friends is a Capricorn and so is one of my nephews – they actually share the same birthday! So, when I was researching Capricorn traits, I kept them in mind to see if any of it sounded familiar. As expected, some traits match up and others…not quite as much.

So, what else can you expect if you’re raising a little Goat or expecting one to arrive very soon? Well, let’s see what the experts have to say!

First, we’ll start with the basics of the Capricorn sign.

  • Birthdate – December 22 – January 19
  • Element – Earth Sign
  • Symbol – The Goat

When it comes to personality, Capricorns are grouped together with Taurus and Virgo as Earth signs. These three are known as the trio of practicality and grounding. Sure, it might sound a little boring for a child, but those are great traits to have as an adult.

Below is a list of typical positive and negative traits of Capricorn. Your little one probably doesn’t have ALL of these traits, but they likely have some. (You can find the whole list here)

Positive Traits

Ambitious – Capricorns like to show others how determined they are. They set clear goals for themselves and don’t stop until they reach success.  I mean, Capricorns are known as The Goat after all.

Team Player – This a great trait to have! As sociable people, Capricorns easily merge into different groups and enjoy working as a team. Having a Capricorn as a teammate or co-worker is an asset.

Responsible – Known for being trustworthy, reliable, and responsible, Capricorns make great employees. They keep track of news, data, and documents and rarely lose things.

Intelligent – Capricorns are full of wisdom and have excellent analytical skills.

Loyal – Capricorns have a heart made of gold! They are kind and make very loyal and faithful friends. They will always be there for you when you need them.

Negative Traits

Unforgiving – To say Capricorns will hold a grudge is an understatement. Not only that, but because they don’t forgive others easily, it can be hard to build relationships with them.

Critical – Since they have a desire for everything to be perfect, Capricorns are known for being very critical of others.

Sensitive – Capricorns are very sensitive people. They can’t stand to be laughed at, and even a minor joke will hurt their feelings.

Now that we know a little bit more about The Goat, let’s dive into their stereotypical likes and dislikes. This sign had more likes listed than most signs I’ve researched, but I narrowed it down to three. As for the dislikes, well, that made me laugh a little bit.

Likes

Family – Capricorns are all about family. This one is true for the friend I mentioned earlier. We met in college, and for as long as I can remember, all she ever wanted was to get married and have babies. She always wanted a big family. (Spoiler alert: she got married and has two awesome sons!)

Music – Now, this one is true for my nephew. He loves all things music and chose his high school based on the music program. He plays guitar too! He’s definitely a music lover! Consider keeping music on at home to keep your little Goat smiling.

Quality Craftsmanship – This one made me smile because my friend is a crafter. She mainly makes children clothes and is always looking for quality fabric.

Dislikes

Almost Everything at Some Point – I don’t think much more needs to be said here.

When it comes to Capricorns, at least the ones I’m close with, I always feel a sense of calm around them. They’re just easy to be around, and considering I’ve been good friends with one for over 20 years, I’d say they make excellent friends.

If you’re currently raising a little Goat, let us know what you think in the comments.

If you were to ask my boys, they would tell you that kids born in the summer months are the luckiest because they NEVER have to go to school on their birthday. My oldest kind of got the short end of the stick when it comes to birthdays though. He was born in early September, and his birthday has been the first day of school on more than one occasion throughout the years. In fact, he started JK on his 4th birthday. In my defense though, he was 10 days late! He was supposed to be an August baby. I blame him.

Now while I don’t have any summer babies of my own, I do have three nephews and one niece who were born during the summer months. Two of them were born under the sign, Cancer. While exploring the stereotypical characteristics of Cancers, I would have to say they are mostly known for their big emotions. It has also been said that Cancers are the most challenging sign to get to know. But we can try, right?

Now until July 22nd, we’re celebrating Cancer. What can you expect if you’re raising a Cancer? Well, let’s see what all the experts say! First, we’ll start with the basics of the Cancer sign.

Birthdate – June 21 – July 22

Element – Water Sign

Symbol – The Crab

As for personality, only time will tell for sure. But if you have a little Cancer in the house and would like a little insight, below are some positive and negative personality traits traditionally associated with the Cancer sign. (You can find the whole list here)

Positive Traits

Loyal – If you’re looking for a faithful friend, find a Cancer! Cancers are known for being loyal friends and are always willing to lend a helping hand to those they care about.

Caring – Your might notice your little crab is very nurturing and has a sensitive nature. Cancers are very caring individuals, but they also require care in return to feel completely happy.

Sense of Humour – If you have a Cancer in your life, you probably already know they have a great sense of humour. They’re very funny and are good at making people smile, and they’re also good at understanding jokes and laughing at themselves.

Protective – The crab is a very protective sign. If they have affection for another person, they have an overwhelming feeling to protect them. They value family and friends, so they’ll sacrifice everything to save them and keep them safe.

Intuitive – Cancers tend to make decisions based on their intuition more than anything else. They are very good at reading people and their intuition can help them avoid being deceived.

Negative Traits

Pessimism – When Cancers get moody, they get pessimistic. As a general rule – the glass is always half empty for Cancers.

Insecure – Since Cancers are ruled by their emotions, they can often feel insecure in certain situations. Be sure to give your little crab plenty of encouragement if you know they’re in a situation where they may be uncomfortable.

Overly Sensitive – You know those people who don’t get offended very often? Well, Cancers are not one of those people. They are sensitive souls, and it doesn’t take much for them to cry.

Since they say Cancers can be hard to get to know, a cheat sheet would come in handy, right? So, according to the experts, here are some likes and dislikes of stereotypical Cancers.

Likes

Art – Break out the paint and crayons! Your little crab has a creative side, and they apparently love to express it in an artistic way. So, start googling arts and crafts you can do with your Cancer.

Home-Based Hobbies – Cancers like their hobbies to be close to home. So maybe start trying a few new hobbies around the house like gardening or puzzles and see what lights up your little one’s face.

Relaxing Near Water – Think cottages and beaches! Cancers are a water sign after all.

Dislikes

Strangers – This isn’t a bad thing for little crabs! If they naturally don’t like strangers, hopefully you shouldn’t have to worry about them going near people they don’t know.

Criticism from Mom – Make sure you choose your words carefully, Momma! Apparently, your Cancer doesn’t take too well to be criticized by Mom. To be fair though, does anyone?!

It looks like Cancers can be tough little nuts to crack. But one thing is for certain when it comes to your little Cancer – you have a friend for life!

If you’re a Cancer, or are currently raising one, let us know in the comments below if the experts are right! Oh, and if you have any tips on raising a Cancer, tell us everything you know!

Ahhhh, Geminis. As someone who lives in a house with not just one but TWO Geminis, you’d think I’d be an expert on what to expect, right? Well, full disclosure…I’m not. Not even a little bit. My husband is a Gemini, and our youngest son is a Gemini as well, and I can at least tell you one thing from personal experience – it’s never boring. Here are some tips on how to raise a Gemini.

While I was researching the stereotypical traits of Geminis, I found myself nodding along and smiling because some of them were completely spot-on for either my husband, my son or BOTH! Maybe that’s why they butt heads so much. They’re too much alike! Or perhaps it’s the mood swings Geminis are known for. Of course, they’re known for being affectionate too, so hopefully, things balance out.

Now until June 20, we’re celebrating Gemini. So, what can you expect if you’re raising a Gemini? Let’s see what all the experts say! First, we’ll start with the basics of Gemini.

Birthdate – May 21 – June 20

Element – Air Sign

Symbol – The Twins

If you’ve got a little Gemini in the house, you might be wondering what kind of personality you can expect in the years to come. Below are some positive and negative personality traits traditionally associated with Gemini. (You can find the whole list here)

Positive Traits

  • Curiosity – This is one of those traits that made me smile and nod because it applies to my son 100%. Geminis are dependent on new information. They need to know everything, and they ask a lot of questions. We actually joke about giving our youngest a maximum number of questions he’s allowed to ask in a day.
  • Social – Geminis are social butterflies! They connect with people easily, have great communication skills, and are very welcoming. Geminis are known as the most sociable sign of the zodiac. This one applies to my husband.
  • Good Sense of Humour – This one is so true! Geminis are often good jokers. They are known for having a great sense of humor and know how to make others laugh. With two Geminis, this must be why my house is always full of laughter.
  • Creativity – Geminis have the most creative nature, and the most lively imagination of the zodiac!
  • Courteous – Do you notice your little Gemini thinking of others often? Holding doors? Geminis are known for their courteous behavior, which helps them win over many friends.

Negative Traits

  • Immaturity – Why grow up? That’s the way Geminis think. They are known for being silly and behaving like children into adulthood because…why not?!
  • Mood Swings – Ever notice your Gemini smiling and having fun one minute and frowning the next? Apparently, Geminis are known for having mood swings. Maybe it’s that whole dual-personality twin thing kicking in.
  • Impulsive – Geminis are known for lacking patience and no self-control. They are easily tempted, and this could lead to reckless decisions. This one is a trait I’ve noticed with my youngest. He has ZERO self-control when it comes to ice cream. Can you really blame him, though?

Now, onto the likes and dislikes of typical Geminis. Of course, not every person under this sign is the same, but knowing what Geminis are stereotypically interested in might give you a chance to try new things you didn’t think of before!

Likes

  • Books & Magazines – You might have a little bookworm on your hands. So, you may notice them gravitating towards books, magazines, graphic novels, or anything else with pages they can turn.
  • Chatting – As we said earlier, Geminis are very social. So, your little Gemini will likely enjoy talking to anyone who will listen to them. So, be sure to talk to them often and give them opportunities to talk to family members and friends. Or grocery store clerks. Or anyone, really.
  • Music – The two Geminis in my house both absolutely LOVE music. There is ALWAYS music playing in the background at our house. In fact, there’s music on right now as I type. So, keep some music on at home, and you might find your little Gemini bopping along.

Dislikes

  • Being Alone – Again, Geminis are social creatures, so they prefer to be with people, not by themselves. Just something to keep in mind if you notice your little one getting upset when you leave the room or leave them on their own to do something.
  • Repetition and Routine – Some people thrive on having a routine. Geminis are not one of those people. They apparently like to mix things up and keep things new and exciting.

As you can see, Geminis are fun people to be around. I’d consider yourself lucky if you have one running around your house right now. They will likely keep things interesting for years to come. And apparently make you laugh too!

Ever since I was young, I was always interested in astrological signs. I was never one of those people that read my horoscope every day and believed every word or anything, but I thought it was fascinating. I enjoyed reading about my sign and all the personality traits that went with it to see if I could relate. Turns out, everything they said about my astrological sign was pretty spot on. So, I decided to start learning about ALL the astrological signs to see if they matched with people I knew under each sign. For the most part, they did! I was intrigued.

As an adult, I still find astrological signs interesting, but I don’t believe every single person is exactly how they’re described by their sign. I do feel like it gives us a glimpse into their personality though. I’ve read the characteristics associated with each of my own kid’s signs and I gotta say, there is definitely some truth to these things.

Now until May 20th, we’re celebrating Taurus. So, what can you expect if you’re raising a little Taurus? Let’s see what all the experts say! First, we’ll start with the Taurus basics.

Birthdate – April 20 – May 20

Element – Earth Sign

Symbol – The Bull

If you’ve got a little Taurus in the house, you might be wondering what kind of personality you can expect in the years to come. Below are some positive and negative personality traits traditionally associated with Taurus. (You can find the whole list here)

Positive Traits
  • Stability – They find comfort in consistency, so when it comes to your Taurus child, consider having a good routine in place to make them feel safe and secure.
  • Honesty – Expect a little one who speaks the truth. Taurus values honesty above everything else and hates when they are lied to, so they express themselves directly.
  • Common Sense – You can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that your little one has been blessed with common sense. They’re always thinking logically, and others tend to go to them for advice.
  • Kindness – Think about a Taurus in your life. Are they kind, caring, and nurturing? My Mom is a Taurus and she is honestly one of the nicest people I know.
  • Patient – There’s no hurry when it comes to a Taurus. So, you can expect a little one that takes their time and analyzes everything before making decisions.
Negative Traits
  • Stubborn – Stubbornness is the key trait of Taurus. I mean, the symbol is the bull, right? You can expect a child who is very set in their ways and will not budge if they’re confident they’re right.
  • Perfectionists – Got a little one where everything needs to be just right? Apparently, it’s not their fault. You can blame their birthday.
  • Possessive – Known for being a bit materialistic, Taureans crave material things and don’t like to share them. This possessiveness could also extend to relationships as well.
  • With little ones, we’re always trying to plan activities that will keep them busy and happy. So, if we know a little more about our kids based on what their astrological sign is typically interested in, we might uncover some new hobbies we didn’t know they had! Here are some Taurus likes and dislikes to keep in mind.
Likes

Gardening – Get your hands dirty and plant a garden together in the backyard or have them help with watering plants around the house.

Cooking – Want some help in the kitchen? Your little Taurus might just be up for it! Have them help with dinner prep or do a little baking together.

Music – Plan some dance parties in the living room. As a music lover myself, I love having music on in the background while I write, read, cook, play board games – pretty much anything! Your Taurus will likely feel the same.

Working with Hands – Think arts & crafts, and a favourite in our house…Lego!

Dislikes

Sudden Changes – Keep this in mind if there are any big changes for your family. Maybe try to ease them into the changes instead of just dropping it on them.

Synthetic Fabrics – Something to consider when shopping for clothes.

Whether you believe in astrology or think it’s complete nonsense, you have to admit…it’s kind of fun! If nothing else, it might give you a general idea of what to expect as your child gets older. If you’re a Taurus, or are currently raising one, let us know in the comments below if the experts are right!
