March has a such great feeling about it, doesn’t it? Maybe it’s because we know Spring arrives this month. Maybe it’s the fun and festivities of St. Patrick’s Day. Maybe it’s because some of us take some time off to spend March or Spring break with the kiddos! Whatever it is, March has a great vibe. It even has some super random, but FUN, days to celebrate including National Goof Off Day, National Chip & Dip Day, National Puppy Day, and National Take a Walk in the Park Day. Sign me up for chips and dip!

If you’re expecting a new addition to the family this month, you have even more to celebrate! Those born in March are known for being happy little babies and they’re also eternal optimists. Pretty awesome, right? So, if you’re counting down the days until your little one arrives, or you already have a little March baby in the house, here are 6 things you need to know about March babies.

They’re night owls

According to one sleep study, those born in March, and other Spring and Summer months, tend to stay up later than those born in Winter. So, you might have some late nights with your little one and some bedtime struggles as they get older. But hey, you’ll always have a late-night movie buddy in those teenage years!

They’re share their birthday month with Bond, Jovi, Reba, and Shaq

The month of March has some serious celebrity birthdays! Those born in March share their month with 007 himself, Daniel Craig, as well as Jon Bon Jovi, Reba McEntire, Shaquille O’Neil, Justin Bieber, Ron Howard and his daughter Bryce, Dr. Seuss, Carrie Underwood, Chuck Norris, Michelangelo, Bruce Willis, Reese Witherspoon, and Lady Gaga.

They’re more likely to be a pilot

If you’re expecting a baby this month and like to travel, good news! According to a UK study, those born in March are more likely to become pilots. They also have greater odds of becoming a musician. That’s two awesome careers to choose from. Or hey, maybe they’ll do both! Think rock star with a private jet!

They could be a future CEO

If the whole rock star or pilot thing doesn’t work out, how does a CEO sound? Studies show that March is the most common birth month among CEO’s and business leaders.

They are either a fish or a ram

Those born in March fall under two very different star signs – Pisces or Aries. Pisces is a water sign and is symbolized by two fish. Pisces are commonly known for being emotional, compassionate, imaginative, and gracious. Those born later in the month fall under Aries – a fire sign symbolized by the ram. Aries are known to be courageous, determined, optimistic, and honest.

They are healthy

Think about some people you know that are born in March. Are they typically pretty healthy? A study by Columbia University concluded that those born during the month of March are not only at a decreased risk of respiratory, reproductive, cardiovascular, or neurological illnesses, but also a decreased risk of disease overall.

Clearly, there are plenty of awesome things about having a birthday in March. We don’t have any March birthdays in our house, but we’re definitely looking forward to the start of Spring. Oh, and we’re also looking forward to getting all this time change business out of our system. Does anyone else have a love-hate relationship with Daylight Savings Time?

For those with a March baby, or those expecting one to arrive by the end of the month, share what you love about it in the comments below, and Happy Spring!

We’re already into the second month of the year! Crazy, right? It always feels like these first couple months of the year go by in slow motion, but we’re already halfway through February and there is so much to look forward to! I mean, I can almost smell Spring! Almost.

For those of you expecting a February baby, you have even MORE to look forward to! Not only are you bringing a beautiful baby into the family, but those born in February appear to be pretty awesome. After doing a bit of research, I’ve learned a lot about babies born in the month of love and football! They’re known for being compassionate, frank, and honest. All good things, right? They’ve also been known to have a bit of a rebellious streak so…consider this your heads up. (Sorry, I’m just the messenger!)

If you have a February baby at home, or you’re expecting a wee one to join the family this month, here are 6 fascinating facts about February babies.

They’re more likely to be born early

If you have a winter baby due to arrive in the next few weeks, make sure that nursery is all set up and ready to go. Like, NOW! Studies show a 10% spike in premature births in January and February.

They’re either an Aquarius or Pisces

Those born in February will either fall under the sign of the water bearer or the fish. Those born February 18th or before are Aquarians and considered to be original and progressive thinkers. They’re also clever and optimistic. Those born in the later half of February fall under Pisces and are known for being emotional, sympathetic, imaginative, gracious, and creative.

They’re more likely to be artists

Speaking of being creative, those born in February are more likely to become artists. Studies show one of the most common professions of those born in the month of February is an artist. Another common job on the list? Traffic Cop. I guess they can’t all be artists.

They tend to be taller

Think about all your friends and family with February birthdays. Do they happen to be a little on the tall side? Well, studies show that not only are February babies longer at birth, but they also tend to be taller as they get older.

They have an uncommon birthday

Seeing as February is the shortest month of the year, it naturally has fewer births. So, those born in February have pretty uncommon birthdays. Plus, every four years is a leap year. So, those who happen to be born on February 29th have the rarest birthday of all!

They share a birthday month with Rachel

If you’re not a Friends fan, well, I’m not sure we can be friends. But if you are, you’ll be happy to hear those born in February share a birthday month with one of the famous friends. Jennifer Aniston turned 53 on February 11th. This month is also full of other awesome celebrity birthdays including Drew Barrymore, Michael Jordan, Sheryl Crow, Steve Jobs, Isla Fisher, Tom Hiddleston, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Nothing wrong with being a part of this group!

If you’re still not convinced of February’s awesomeness, I’ll give you even more to celebrate! February is host to National Cherry Pie Day, National Retro Day, National Comfy Day, National Random Acts of Kindness Day, and National Kahlua Day. It’s on the 27th. You didn’t miss it! That being said, February also has National Cook a Sweet Potato Day. Seriously, it’s a thing. I can’t make these things up. (Although, someone does!)

For those with a February baby, or those expecting one to arrive by the end of the month, share what you love about it in the comments below, and enjoy this wonderful month of all things love!

It’s a new month! A new year! A new beginning! And maybe for some of you reading this…a new baby!

Starting off a brand-new year with a brand-new bundle of joy is super exciting. January always has that feeling of a fresh start where we can put the past year behind us and look forward to what’s to come. That’s especially exciting if the previous year wasn’t all that great. And let’s be honest…it probably wasn’t, am I right? Well, if we’re being completely honest here, the last TWO years weren’t all that awesome. But hey – that’s all behind us now! It can only go up from here! *crosses fingers and toes*

If you’re expecting a new baby this month, you have plenty to look forward to in the coming year! Lots of exciting changes and milestones, and since January is right in the middle of winter, you get the opportunity to snuggle up and spend some quality time with your wee one. Plus, babies born in January have a lot of things going for them, like a natural sense of humour and incredible wit. Sarcasm apparently comes quite easy to them too. It might be a good idea to make a mental note of these things for those teenage years to come.

If you have a January baby at home, or you’re expecting a bundle of joy this month, here are 6 fun facts about babies born in January.

They could be famous

You January baby might have a life of fame and fortune ahead of them! A small study found that more celebrities were born during the Aquarius season than under any other astrological sign. Like Ellen DeGeneres, Oprah Winfrey, Neil Diamond, Tom Selleck, Justin Timberlake…I think you get the idea!

They’re either a Capricorn or Aquarius

Speaking of astrological signs, those born in January fall under Capricorn or Aquarius. Birthdays from January 1st to 19th are Capricorns. This sign is known for being hard-working, ambitious, and practical. January babies born January 20th or later fall under Aquarius. This sign is known for being intelligent, quirky, and independent. I know a few Capricorns and Aquarius’ and I would have to say that these characteristics are pretty spot-on!

They are very chill

January babies are born in one of the coldest months of the year, but the weather isn’t the only thing that’s on the ‘chill’ side. According to a European study, babies born in the winter months are less irritable than those born in other seasons. So, if you’ve got a little January baby in the house, you can expect them to be pretty chill. (Fingers crossed, right?!)

They’re more creative

Do you happen to know a lot of creative people who also happen to be born in January? A 2015 study showed that people born in January and February show higher levels of creativity and imaginative problem-solving.

They’re great at sports

Muhammad Ali, Connor McDavid, Wayne Gretzky, Mary Lou Retton, Nolan Ryan – some of the greatest athletes of all time. What else do they have in common? They were all born in January – which scientists say improves your chance of becoming a professional athlete. An Australian study found that the Australian Football League had 33% more players born in January than any other month. These results are mirrored internationally in other sports like football, hockey, basketball, volleyball, and ice hockey.

They may have a medical career

Could you be raising a future doctor? According to a study, those born in January are more likely to become doctors. This study also showed that they have a higher chance of becoming debt collectors as well, but hey – at least they’re likely to be employed!

January may seem like one of the most depressing months of the year, but with a January baby in the house, there’s plenty to celebrate. If you don’t have a baby or birthday to celebrate this month, there’s always National Cheese Lover’s Day, National Hugging Day, National Pie Day, National Puzzle Day, and one I think everyone should celebrate…National Chocolate Cake Day. It’s January 27th. Mark it down and thank me later.

For those with a January baby, or those expecting one to arrive this month, share what you love about it in the comments below. Happy January! Stay warm!

It’s the start of the holiday season! It’s still Fall-like weather! One of my favourite months!

If you ask me, November rocks! Now, some might think I’m saying this because I have a November birthday, but that’s not the only reason. If you read my October babies post, you know that I’m a lover of all things Fall and everything I love about Fall just continues throughout the month of November. Then you add in the start of the holiday season, and everything just feels all merry and bright! Plus, I love all things peppermint, cinnamon, and cranberry. I was definitely born in the right month!

Those born in November have some great things going for them. Like October babies, they’re destined to be great athletes. Due to the two astrological signs in November, they’re known for being great friends, and their birthday month is also Peanut Butter Lovers Month, Aviation History Month, and National Sleep Comfort Month. Let me tell you, this November baby LOVES sleeping. Big fan!

If you have a November baby in the house, or you’re expecting a new addition to the family this month, here are 6 cool things about babies born in November.

The boys are more likely to be left-handed

Boys born in the month of November are apparently more likely to be left-handed according to a study. While scientists don’t exactly know the reason behind this, they suspect it’s due to the mother’s early exposure to sunlight potentially increasing testosterone levels, which may increase the chances of being left-handed.

They’re either a Scorpio or a Sagittarius

November babies are one of two very unique star signs. Those born November 1st to 22nd are little Scorpios – known as the most intense zodiac sign. They’re strong-willed, loyal, magnetic, ambitious, and passionate. Those born from the 23rd to the end of the month fall under Sagittarius. They’re known for being adventurous, outspoken, optimistic, smart, and extroverted with a love of travel. In short, these are two star-signs you want to be friends with.

They have a rare birthday month

While September has almost all of the most popular birthdays, November is the opposite. Six of the rarest birthdays of the year fall in November – and they all seem to be towards the end of the month. This chart shows where your November birthday falls on the list.

They have Healthy Hearts & Lungs

According to research, those born in November have healthier hearts and lungs. It appears that November babies are less likely to develop heart problems or lung cancer than those born in other months. Beware though, the same study found that babies born in November may have an increased risk of respiratory issues later in life.

They share a birthday month with Mickey Mouse!

Do I really need to say more? I mean, it’s Mickey! Everyone’s favourite mouse turns 95 this year! Those born in November also share a birthday month with a number of other amazing celebrities including Leonardo DiCaprio, Ryan Gosling, Whoopi Goldberg, Anne Hathaway, Demi Moore, David Schwimmer, Danny DeVito, Ben Stiller, Kaley Cuoco, and so many more!

They’re the happiest

According to studies, babies born in the Fall – particularly November – have the lowest clinical depression rate and are less likely to suffer from depression. Now, I can’t speak for every November baby, but for me, this is bang on! My husband is constantly teasing me about my optimistic attitude, and I’ve had multiple people ask me over the years how I can be so happy all the time, and if I’ve ever been in a bad mood. (Spoiler alert: Yes, I have been in a bad mood. Candy fixes it.)

As you can see, November is a pretty great month to celebrate a birthday. I’ve always loved having a November birthday, and this year it falls on Cyber Monday. Maybe I’ll buy myself something nice while I sit on my couch and eat cake in my jammies!

For those with a November baby, or those expecting one to arrive this month, share what you love about it in the comments below. Happy November! For more months – see these!

It’s the month of crunchy leaves, football, Halloween, and everything pumpkin! I’d be lying if I said I didn’t like October. In fact, I think October is one of my favourite months of the year. I love the weather, I love watching football with my boys, I love taking family walks to check out all the amazing Fall colours, and I’m a big fan of raiding all the candy in my kids Halloween bags. (Shhh! Don’t tell them!)

October also hosts some interesting days including Global Cat Day, National Pasta Day, International Sloth Day, Halloween of course, and even National Croc Day. I might be one of the only people who still love and wear Crocs, so I’m pretty pumped there’s a day dedicated to celebrating them. I have a pair I call my “winter crocs” because they’re lined with fur. My boots are even Crocs. If anyone else wants to celebrate with me, National Croc Day is October 23rd #CrocsForever

Moving on though, October is also a wonderful month to welcome a new baby. Those born in October are generally known to be charming, calm, and collected. So, that should make for a pretty relaxed baby, right? If you have an October baby in the family, or you’re expecting a little one to arrive this month, here are 6 fun things to know about October babies!

They’re more likely to be athletic

Apparently, those born in October are significantly better athletes than their peers. One study tested the strength, stamina, and cardiovascular fitness of 9,000 kids between 10 and 16 years old and found that those born in October performed significantly better than those born in other months of the year. So, if you have a baby due this month, be prepared to spend the next few years at hockey rinks, baseball diamonds, soccer fields, and basketball courts.

They’re either Libras or Scorpios

If your October baby is born before or on October 22nd, they fall under the Libra zodiac sign. Libras are said to be kind, sincere, romantic, understanding, peace-lovers, and great listeners. Those born in the later part of the month fall under the Scorpio zodiac sign, known as the most intense sign. Scorpios are loyal, strong-willed, mysterious, passionate, complex, and brave.

They share a birthday month with A LOT of celebrities

Holy celebrity birthdays, Batman! Okay, Batman might not have been born in October, but Wolverine, Captain Marvel, and Deadpool sure were! Yes, your October baby shares a birthday month with Hugh Jackson, Brie Larson, Ryan Reynolds, and a whole slew of other celebrities including Julia Roberts, Matt Damon, Bruno Mars, Jeff Goldblum, Eminem, Kate Winslet, and even Mary Poppins herself, Julie Andrews.

They have Healthy Hearts & Minds

According to studies, those born in October have a higher overall risk of disease, particularly respiratory conditions. However, October babies tend to have very strong and healthy hearts and are the least likely to develop cardiovascular disease. They are also prone to good mental health as well.

They’re born leaders

If you already have an October born child in the house, have you noticed they’re a natural leader? Turns out, more US Presidents have been born during October than any other month of the year. John Adams, Rutherford B. Hayes, Chester Arthur, Teddy Roosevelt, Dwight D. Eisenhower, and Jimmy Carter all have October birthdays. Even Hillary Clinton, who ran for president in 2016, was born in October. Could you have a future world leader on your hands?

They’re probably not born on Halloween

Chances are, your October baby will not be born on October 31st. Fewer women go into labour and give birth on Halloween than other days in the month, according to a study conducted by researchers at the Yale University School of Public Health. Scientists have concluded that the reason for this is because the spooky associations that go along with Halloween subconsciously put women off giving birth.

As I said earlier, October is such an amazing month. For those with an October baby, or those expecting one to arrive this month, share what you love about it in the comments below.

I’m going to end this with a quote I always see online at this time of year that pretty much sums up how I, and many other lovers of Fall, feel about this month…

“I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers” – L.M Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables

Well said. Happy October!  Check out more months here

Even though it’s somewhat in the middle of the year, September has always been a month of new beginnings. It’s the start of a new school year, a new season begins, we adapt to new routines, and everything just feels like a fresh start! Oh, and pumpkin spice is everywhere! Depending on how you feel about pumpkin spice, that could be a good thing or a bad thing. Even if you don’t like the taste of pumpkin spice, I think we can all agree it smells amazing! Okay, maybe we won’t ALL agree.

Besides pumpkin everything, September is also the month to celebrate some fun – and random – things, like National Pepperoni Pizza Day, Talk Like a Pirate Day, National Comic Book Day, National Coffee Day, and a day I think the whole world needs right now…National Love People Day. It’s on September 30th.  I’m also kind of a fan of National Guacamole Day. So yummy!

September is also a great month to welcome a new baby. I welcomed my first baby in September, and he just turned 13 this year. (Yes, I have a teenager in the house now. Send help…or wine.) His birthday always lands around Labour Day weekend and back-to-school. He actually started junior kindergarten on his 4th birthday, which he was pretty excited about back then. Now though…not so much!

If you have a September baby in the family, or you’re expecting your wee one to arrive this month, here are 6 interesting facts about those born in September.

They grow up tall and strong

As a Mom of a September baby, I can agree! Studies out of Bristol University found that babies born in the late summer and early fall are taller and stronger than those born in winter and spring. Their bones are even thicker! Considering my September born is a couple inches taller than me and won’t stop growing out of all his clothes, I have a feeling there’s a fair amount of truth to this one.

They have the most popular birthday month

According to Reader’s Digest, 9 out of 10 of the most popular birthdays throughout the year are in September. Researchers found that mid-September has more birthdays than any other time period of the year. The most popular birthday is September 9th, and September 19th comes in second. Why is this you ask? Well, if we turn the clocks back 9 months, that put us in December when couples have more time off to celebrate the holidays and spend time together…cuddling.

They’re a Virgo or a Libra

Those born in the month of September are either Virgos or Libras. Even though they share the same birth month, the signs are actually quite different. Those born between September 1st and 22nd fall under Virgo. Virgos are known for being super organized, efficient, and practical. Those born September 23rd to 30th fall under the Libra sign. Libras are charming, romantic, and dreamy. My oldest is a Virgo and I can honestly say, he is all of those things.

They are more prone to asthma

Now this one isn’t exactly a positive thing, but it’s definitely worth knowing and keeping in the back of your mind. A Vanderbilt University study found that those born during the autumn months are 30% more likely to develop asthma. Researchers think it’s because babies born right before winter are more susceptible to colds and viral infections.

They are more likely to live to 100

While they may be more likely to get asthma, they’re also more likely to live the longest! Research has shown that the majority of people who live to 100 and beyond were born between September and November. Of course, diet, exercise, and a positive outlook on life will help add years to your life, but apparently your birthday could help as well!

They share their birthday month with a wide range of celebrities

The month of September is filled with celebrity birthdays! We’ve got actors, singers, athletes and even royalty. Those born in September share a birthday month with celebrities including Will Smith, Zendaya, Beyonce, Keanu Reeves, Freddie Mercury, Bill Murray, Jimmy Fallon, Prince Harry, Serena Williams, Salma Hayak, and Avril Lavigne.

As we all settle into our new routines this month, make sure you take some time to slow down and celebrate those September birthdays in your family. If you don’t have a birthday to celebrate, may I suggest you celebrate National Ice Cream Cone Day on the 22nd? Or maybe National Quesadilla Day on the 25th? Both fun and delicious days I’m sure the whole family will enjoy celebrating.

For those with a September baby, or those welcoming a little one this month, share what you love about it in the comments below. Oh, and Happy Pumpkin Spice season! I mean, Happy September! Check out all birth months here

August already?! Or maybe for some parents…it’s ONLY August?! Whatever boat you’re in, August definitely has its pros and cons. It’s an exciting month because it’s still filled with loads of summer fun, and there’s also the excitement of a new school year just around the corner! Okay, maybe that last one might fall under the ‘con’ category, depending on who you ask.

The month of August is also filled with plenty of reasons to celebrate. The whole month is National Sandwich Month, which could be why August babies love their sandwiches more than the average person. Plus, August hosts National Fajita Day, National Waffle Day, National Aviation Day, National Dog Day, and even National Power Rangers Day! Yes, it’s a thing.

If you’re welcoming a new baby in August, then that’s the ultimate reason to celebrate! You can look forward to having a happy little baby that will keep you laughing and on your toes for years to come.

So, if you have an August baby in the house, or you’re expecting a little one to arrive this month, here are 6 things you should know.

They might be a bit naughty

If you’ve noticed that your August born child is a bit more of a handful than your other children, it might not be their fault. Researchers from the Queensland University of Technology in Australia discovered that summer babies are more likely to struggle with sharing, concentrating, making friends, and helping. But they make up for it with their sunny and outgoing personalities, right? Right?!?!

They have a lucky birthstone

According to the American Gem Society, the traditional birthstone for August is the Peridot. The origin of this gorgeous lime green birthstone remains unclear, but it is apparently associated with good fortune. It’s also been called the ‘gem of the sun’ by Ancient Egyptians. They believed it protected its wearers from ‘terrors of the night’. So, it’s a lucky AND powerful birthstone!

They’re a Leo or a Virgo

If your wee one is born before August 22nd, you’ve got a fierce little lion on your hands! Leo is a fire sign and they’re known for being confident, bright, playful, protective, loving, and social. They are natural leaders and love being the center of attention. For those born August 22nd and later, they fall under Virgo. Virgos are known for being creative, patient, kind, responsible, calm, and they have excellent memories. My oldest is a September born Virgo, and all of these apply. Particularly the excellent memory. It’s impressive!

They share their birthday month with singers, comedians and athletes

Your little August baby could end up being famous! August is packed full of celebrity birthdays. Those born in August share their birthday month with a whole whack of incredible singers including Kenny Rogers, Shania Twain, Michael Jackson, Shawn Mendes, Billy Ray Cyrus, and LeAnn Rimes. Then there are comedians! We’re talkin’ Matthew Perry, Chris Tucker, Jack Black, Lucille Ball, Steve Martin, Kristen Wiig, and Steve Carrell. There are also a bunch of well-known athletes born in August, including Tom Brady, Kobe Bryant, Tim Tebow, Roger Federer, and Magic Johnson. Oh, and even a few US Presidents were born in August, including Barack Obama and Bill Clinton! If you have an August child in your house, it looks like you should prepare for greatness.

They are less likely to suffer from certain mental illnesses

Studies have shown that babies born in the winter months are at a greater risk of developing certain mental illnesses than those born in the summer months. So, your August baby is less likely to develop illnesses like depression, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia. Experts theorize you can thank the extra vitamin D they get while in utero for that!

They’re happier!

If you’ve noticed your August child appears to be a happy little camper, there’s a reason for that! Research from Vanderbilt University found that those born in August (and other summer months) are generally happier than those born in winter months.

As you can see, there are plenty of positive things about welcoming a child or celebrating a birthday this month. We don’t have any August birthdays in our house, but we definitely plan to celebrate National Sandwich Month! Subs, hoagies, grilled cheese, clubhouse – the possibilities are endless…and delicious.

If you have a little bundle of August joy in your house, or you’re planning on welcoming an August baby, share what you love about your summer baby in the comments below. And enjoy this last official month of summer while you can!

If you read my article last month about June babies, you know it was a pretty busy month for celebrations in our house. The month of July though, not so much. It’s like the calm after storm. That doesn’t mean there aren’t things to celebrate this month, though!

July is filled with fun, festive days like National Ice Cream Day, International Friendship Day, National Cousins Day, and my personal favorite – National Cheesecake Day. (It’s July 30th by the way!) Not only that, but July is also filled with glorious beach days, backyard barbeques, and pool parties! It’s a pretty awesome month with or without birthday celebrations.

If you’re welcoming a new baby this month though, you have an extra reason to celebrate! There are so many amazing things about babies born in July. They’re known to be charming and generous and they’re prone to having that sunny disposition since July is typically the warmest month of the year.

So, if you have a July baby in the house, or you’re expecting a little one to arrive this month, here are six reasons why July babies are simply awesome.

They’re more likely to be left-handed

Those born in July are more likely to be lefties than righties! A study out of the UK found a significantly higher number of left-handed people were born in July. Being a leftie means you are more likely to be the creative type. If your dominant hand is your left, you tend to use the right side of your brain – and that’s the side that fuels creativity!

They have a strong birthstone

The birthstone for July is the deep red Ruby. Babies born in July not only get a stunning birthstone, but according to the American Gem Society, the Ruby is believed to promote courage and energy, heighten awareness, and bring success in wealth and love. Wow! Anyone else wish they were born in July right about now?

They’re one of two VERY different star signs

We may be grouping all July babies into one big category, but depending on their birthdate, July babies are one of two VERY different star signs. We’re talking complete opposites here! Those born up to and including July 23rd fall under Cancer, a water sign. Cancers are known for being sensitive and nurturing. Those born July 23rd – 31st fall under Leo, a fire sign. Leos are known for being dynamic, bold, and passionate.

They share their birthday month with Disney characters

Babies born in July have some pretty great company! They share a birthday month with Anna from Frozen and Woody from Toy Story! Kristen Bell and Tom Hanks are both born in July, along with quite a few other awesome celebrities including, Liv Tyler, Margot Robbie, Tom Cruise, Kevin Bacon, Selena Gomez, Jennifer Lopez, Jane Lynch, J.K. Rowling, Sandra Bullock, Daniel Radcliffe, Sylvester Stallone, and Will Ferrell. Yep, Harry Potter and Rocky were born in July, too!

They may have good self-control

July babies apparently have better self-control. A study out of Japan found that by the age of 18 months, babies born in the summer months displayed more “effortful control.” Translation? They had better emotional and behavioral regulation skills. Less tantrums maybe? Yes, please!

They are more likely to become artists

Is your July baby a future artist? According to a UK census data report, they might just be! The report found that babies born in July are more likely to grow up to become artists.  Other occupations that were overwhelmingly made up of summer and July babies included train drivers and bricklayers.

While we’re not personally celebrating a birthday in our house this month, I still love the feeling that July brings. It’s a month filled with beautiful summer days without the hectic school schedule. The whole month just feels relaxed, simple, and stress-free. Three of my favorite things!

For those with July babies at home, or those welcoming a July baby this month, share what you love about it in the comments below. Happy July! Check out other birth months here!

June is a huge month of celebration for our family. The end of the school year, summer officially starts, Father’s Day and birthdays! Seriously, a lot of birthdays! My hubby has a June birthday, our youngest is a June baby, and two of my brother-in-law’s have June birthdays. Let’s just say, we have a decent amount of cake in this house during the month of June! And with June also being National Give a Bunch of Balloons Month and National Candy Month, it’s a great time to have a baby and celebrate!

June babies not only share a birthday month with Dad’s special day, but they also share it with some pretty awesome celebrities, too! Marilyn Monroe, Angelina Jolie, Courtney Cox, Paul McCartney, Chris Evans, Prince Phillip, Chris Pratt, Nicole Kidman, and Tom Holland all celebrate their birthdays during the month of June. So, if you’re keeping track, Captain America, Starlord, AND Spiderman were all born in June. Maybe June babies are most likely to become superheroes?! Interesting…

So, if you have a child who was born in June, or you’re expecting a baby this month, here are 6 awesome facts about babies born in June!

They’re more likely to be tall

According to a British Study, you could literally be looking up to your June baby! Those born in June are more likely to be bigger and grow into tall adults. It’s speculated that, due to all the extra sunshine when they’re born, summer babies get more vitamin D which makes them more likely to be tall! Who knew?!

They could be a Nobel Prize winner

Your little June baby might end up being a genius! An analysis of Nobel Laureates found that a surprisingly high number of Nobel Prize winners were born in June. I mean, there’s no guarantee obviously, but simply being born in June gives them a higher chance of accomplishing great things!

They’re a twin or a crab

Babies born in June fall under two pretty cool star signs – Gemini or Cancer. Those born before June 20th fall under Gemini and are said to be highly intelligent, quick-witted, and indecisive. (With two Geminis in the house, I can definitely back up the indecisive part!) Those born after the 20th fall under the Cancer sign and are known for being loyal and loving.

They get 3 birthstones

Most of us only get one birthstone. June babies however, have THREE birthstones! According to the American Gem Society, June birthstones include the pearl, alexandrite, or moonstone. So, those born in June have options! Which is awesome, especially if your June baby is one of those indecisive Gemini’s we just talked about!

They aren’t S.A.D.

If you’re not familiar, SAD stands for Seasonal Affective Disorder. It’s a disorder many people experience during the long, cold winter months. However, an article published in Nature Neuroscience found that babies born in June (and July & August) are less likely to develop SAD, which means they’re happier than most during those dreaded winter months!

They have classic birth flowers

Did you know that every month has a birthstone AND a birth flower? I sure didn’t. In fact, I couldn’t even tell you what my birth month’s flower is. June, however, is represented by TWO classic flowers: the rose and honeysuckle. Roses signify romance, while honeysuckle stands for happiness. Can’t go wrong with either of those, right?

As I said, June is pretty big month for celebrations in our house. I’m a fan of June because we have so many things to celebrate on a personal level, but also because summer begins, school ends and our kids look forward to both of those things! Happy kids for the win, am I right?

The month of May has plenty to celebrate: Star Wars Day! Cinco De Mayo! Mother’s Day! A long weekend! Even National Eat-Whatever-You-Want Day, National Mimosa Day and National Macaroon Day all happen in May! What a great month for celebrations. And if you’re expecting a little bundle of joy this month, or you already have a little May baby at home, you get to add yet another celebration to the list!

There are so many positive things associated with babies born in May. Not only do they get to share a birthday month with Mom’s special month, but babies born in May are also known for having great physical and mental health. In fact, research from the University of Columbia shows people born in May have the lowest disease risk compared to those born in any other month. How cool is that?

So, mamas and mamas-to-be of May babies, here are 6 cool facts about little ones born in May!

They’re born lucky

Apparently, babies born in May are more likely to have good luck. A study done in the UK showed that May is the luckiest month to be born in, while October is the unluckiest month. I find this amusing because my mother was born in May, and my father in October. I can honestly say that when it comes to luck on scratch tickets, prize draws, and winning at the casino…it’s all Mom (Sorry, Dad!)

It’s a royal birth month

Like April, May is also a royal birthday month. While Queen Elizabeth II was born in April, her great-great grandmother, Queen Victoria, was born on May 24, 1819. In addition to Queen Victoria, those born in May also share a birthday month with quite the line-up of other big names! The Rock, George Clooney, Audrey Hepburn, Adele, Bono, Tina Fey, Cher, George Lucas, Clint Eastwood and Idina Menzel are all celebrating birthdays in May.

They have a great star sign

Babies born in May are either Taurus or Gemini – two signs that have a lot going for them! Birthdays between May 1st and 20th fall under Taurus and are known to be smart, ambitious, and trustworthy. May babies born from May 21st on are Geminis, and are said to be more passionate and dynamic.

Their birth stone is gorgeous (and rare)

If you ask me, those born in May have the prettiest of all the birthstones. Green is my favourite colour and I definitely wish my birthstone was the Emerald. It’s such a gorgeous colour! According to the American Gem Society, Emeralds are associated with foresight, good fortune, and youth. The Emerald is also the rarest of the birthstones.

They tend to be smaller

Babies born in May are smaller! According to studies, babies with the lowest birth weights are typically born in May. It’s apparently due to the lower amounts of vitamin D they receive in the womb during a winter pregnancy. I don’t have a May baby, but I have a September baby who would have soaked up loads of vitamin D throughout the summer and he was just over 11lbs! Sounds like there’s definitely some truth to this. Here’s to hoping the smaller baby size means a slightly easier delivery for all you mamas out there!

They might be night owls

This might not be good news for those expecting a May baby, but studies show those born in May like to stay up late. Apparently, your season of birth has an effect on sleep preferences and those born in May tend to go to bed later than those born in other months, like December or February.

I’m a big fan of the month of May. As I said, I don’t have any May babies and I’m not a May baby myself, but I’ve always just loved the feeling that the month brings. The weather warms up, people seem genuinely happier, and there are so many fun things to celebrate. If you have a May baby at home or you’re expecting a May baby, share what you love about it in the comments below. Happy May!
